Why do I need an interior designer?
An interior designer will help you navigate your project, from getting you motivated, to determining the scope of work, to the execution of it all. Our experience and expertise allows us to make confident, informed decisions, while maximizing your budget and avoiding expensive mistakes. Successfully executing an envisioned space takes hours of planning and research that most homeowners just don’t have. A designer will help you tell the visual story of your life!
What is your design aesthetic?
After all is said and done, your home should reflect who you are. Our mission is to help our clients flesh out their own beauty, art and taste and bring them to life! Our interiors are infused with my love of color, form and flow. We love incorporating cherished family heirlooms, alongside more modern pieces, to layer your home with your history and classic charm, while remaining relevant to today.
What’s the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator?
An interior designer works together with the client and contractor from the beginning of a project to reconfigure a space. We are deeply involved in the construction process from Day 1, selecting flooring, lighting and finishes, and making sure everything runs smoothly. Interior decorators get involved later in the process to select color schemes, furnishings, and accessories–an aspect that is also covered by interior designers.
What services do you offer?
Our services often include: preparation of layout/plans, selection of decorative finishes (e.g. paint colors, wood finishes, floor coverings, wall coverings), selection of light fixtures, selection and/or design of furnishings, ordering of materials, coordination of tradesmen and suppliers, and supervision of installation.
What does a consultation entail?
A consultation starts with a phone call. From there we set a time to meet and discuss creating your ideal space. We will begin to draft a plan of action, map out a budget, and consider design styles. What should I have with me at our project’s first meeting?
At our first meeting, please bring me anything that has caught your eye. This may include tear sheets from magazines or catalogues, your Pinterest board, or even your favorite cashmere sweater. Feel free to bring me any questions you have regarding the design process, specific retailers, timeline and budget. Our first meeting is about getting all of your ideas on the table so I can begin to carefully craft them into a beautiful, cohesive design.
How much does a typical job cost?
The cost of every job varies, as no two homes or projects are the same. Our design fee depends on the scope of work (e.g. full renovations, redesign or refresh) and timeline, all with respect to your budget. See below about our new consultation services!
What geographical areas do you service?
We are located in downtown Manhattan, New York. Our clients are often in the Manhattan and Brooklyn boroughs of New York, though our love of travel could bring us almost anywhere.
